Loop Health, a VC-backed startup that provides affordable health insurance and primary care, has brought on board Amit Punchhi on the founding team as president, said a statement issued today. He will bring experienced leadership to the firm’s mission of transforming corporate health insurance.
Punchhi has 30 years of experience in global financial services and was most recently part of the executive council at HDFC Life as CBO and CIO. As CEO of Reinsurance Group of America (RGA) in Hong Kong, he led various businesses across multiple countries between 2010 and 2017.
“Amit has been part of Loop Health’s journey since the beginning, having invested in it a year ago as an angel investor in our seed round. We are thrilled to have him on board given his expertise and experience in the insurance and financial services sector. His addition to the team is a crucial step in our future growth and expansion,” said Mayank Kale, CEO, Loop Health.
Founded in 2018, Loop Health is a new-age healthcare provider in India combining high-quality primary care and insurance for employers. The startup enables businesses to help their employees get better healthcare services by providing members with access to preventative care and a team of doctors at any time, through its mobile app.
“I am excited to deepen my involvement with the founders who are passionate about improving healthcare solutions for companies and their employees in India. 150+ companies today trust Loop Health to support 100,000+ employees and their dependents for their insurance and healthcare needs,” said Punchhi.
